This policy describes how SAAM Verspieren Group protects the personal data of users of its website, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as its cookie policy.
Personal data protection under the GDPR
Collection and purposes of use of your personal data
The personal data collected is processed electronically to enable SAAM Verspieren Group to contact you and/or send you any proposal or documentation as part of your search for an insurance solution, and subsequently, where applicable, for the arrangement and management of insurance contracts.
The controller of your personal data is SAAM Verspieren Group, whose registered office is at 60 rue de la Chaussée d'Antin, 75009 Paris, France.
The legal basis for processing your personal data is the performance of your insurance contract or your explicit consent obtained when the data was collected.
For the same purposes as those set out above, this data may be used by the entities of our group and may, where applicable, be passed on to our partners, agents, reinsurers, professional bodies and guarantee funds, and appointed subcontractors, as well as to the insurance bodies of the persons involved and to public bodies and authorities.
Internally, only recipients duly authorised by SAAM Verspieren Group by virtue of their duties (sales, underwriting, production, administrative and accounting, claims and IT functions) may access personal data concerning you, without prejudice to its possible transmission to bodies entrusted with a supervisory or inspection role under the applicable regulations.
Should the personal data collected and processed be transferred outside the European Union, safeguards would be put in place to provide a legal framework for the transfer and ensure an adequate level of protection for the data.
Address autocomplete
The address fields on this website (quotation tool, subscription journey, client area, complaint, cancellation and contact forms) offer autocomplete assistance: as you type, the text you enter in that field is sent to Google LLC, which operates the Google Places service, in order to suggest standardised addresses and avoid input errors. Only that text is sent: neither your name, nor your email address, nor any other data from your file. No geolocation is performed and this service places no cookie on your device.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in ensuring the accuracy of the postal addresses used to send you your contractual documents. Autocomplete is optional: you may type your address entirely by hand, without selecting any suggestion. Google LLC acts here on its own behalf under its Google Maps Platform service; this processing involves a transfer to the United States, governed by Google LLC's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
To find out more about the processing carried out by Google, see the Google Privacy Policy.
Retention of your personal data
Your personal data is retained for the purposes mentioned above and in accordance with the legal obligations in force. This personal data will not be kept longer than necessary to fulfil these purposes.
Your data protection rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection on legitimate grounds regarding all data concerning you. You also have the right to restriction of processing and the right to request the transfer of your data (right to portability). You may withdraw your consent to the use of your data at any time.
You can exercise all of these rights by sending your request, together with signed proof of identity, to dpo-saam@saam-assurance.com. Your request will be handled by the Data Protection Officer.
You may also exercise your rights by post: SAAM Verspieren Group — Compliance DPO, 60 rue de la Chaussée d'Antin, 75009 Paris, France. We will respond within one month of receipt (extendable by two months for complex requests, with prior notice).
The data controller reserves the right not to act on such requests if the processing of the data is necessary for the performance of the contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the CNIL is the competent supervisory authority in France).
Conversational assistant (artificial intelligence)
The website offers a conversational assistant designed to answer your questions about SAAM insurance products (covers, exclusions, claim documents, management rules). In accordance with the European regulation on artificial intelligence (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 50), you are informed from the very first exchange that you are talking to an artificial intelligence system and not a human adviser. Its answers are provided for information purposes only and constitute neither personalised advice nor a contractual commitment: only the general terms and conditions in force are authoritative.
Data processed. The questions you freely type into the assistant are transmitted, together with the history of the current conversation, to our processor Google (Vertex AI service) to generate the answer. Processing is carried out in the European Union (europe-west4, Netherlands). Conversations are not recorded by SAAM: only anonymised technical counters (hashed session identifier, volumes) are kept for security and usage-limitation purposes. We ask you not to enter any health data or other sensitive data into the assistant: such information belongs exclusively in the secure medical questionnaire of the subscription process.
Transfers outside the European Union. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the services are also governed by standard contractual clauses and processing is configured in a European region. The assistant makes no automated decision producing legal effects concerning you (Article 22 GDPR): it does not assess your application, does not calculate any price and has no influence on the acceptance of your subscription.
For any question about this processing or to exercise your rights, contact our Data Protection Officer: dpo-saam@saam-assurance.com.
Security
We attach the utmost importance to the security and integrity of the personal data of our policyholders and prospects, and we undertake to process your personal data using appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
For more information, please see our dpo-saam@saam-assurance.com.
Confidentiality
The information you provide to us is never handed over to third parties.
By way of exception, certain information may be shared between the entities of our group and with some of their service providers, who are themselves strictly prohibited from exchanging this data.
