A single claims handler, from report to settlement

At SAAM Verspieren Group, every aviation claim is handled by a single claims handler who manages the file from the first report through to settlement, backed by a dedicated team of technical, legal and claims-settlement experts. We coordinate between the insurer, the victims or policyholders and the experts (technical, medical, legal), ensuring clear communication, fast decisions and rigorous follow-up at every step.

Our approach favours responsiveness and transparency: a fast initial assessment, a solid evidence file, the necessary expert appraisals and coordinated exchanges with stakeholders to optimise the settlement and speed up the return to service. You benefit from a single point of contact who knows your policies, your fleet and your operational stakes, along with structured reporting to track the progress of the file and the decisions made.

The 6 steps of the claims process

  1. Report your claim online

Gather your documents (pilot qualifications, aircraft information, photos of the damage…) and submit your report online to our teams.

The faster and more complete your report, the sooner your file can be processed.

  2. Your file is opened

Our claims department receives your report and opens your file. You receive an email with your file reference, the name of your claims handler, and the list of additional documents to send us.

You know immediately who is handling your file and how to reach us.

  3. Your file is routed

Depending on your policy, two situations are possible:

    • Delegated file: SAAM handles the entire claim, in the interest of all parties (policyholder and insurer).
    • Non-delegated file: your file is forwarded to your insurer. SAAM remains your main point of contact throughout the process.

In both cases, you are never alone: SAAM's claims department supports you from start to finish.

  4. File review and expert appraisal

SAAM or the insurer appoints an expert who gathers the initial information, determines the causes and circumstances of the claim, assesses the damage and monitors repair costs.

The expert is a specialist in the aviation sector — they speak your language.

  5. Analysis and decision

Once the expert report is received and your file is complete, we analyse the next steps based on the terms of your policy.

We check that all applicable covers are duly taken into account.

  6. Settlement decision and closure

We inform you of the decision on your settlement:

    • Cover confirmed: a settlement agreement is sent to you for signature, followed by payment of the indemnity.
    • Refusal or exclusion: we explain the reasons for the decision.

Your file is then closed. You receive a clear answer, whatever the outcome.
